  • Needs periodic backwashing or replacement.

3. Activated Carbon Filter

  • Carbon adsorption improves taste and removes chemical pollutants that sand cannot catch.
  • Works best after sand filter (so it does not clog quickly).

4. UV Sterilization (Disinfection)

  • UV light chamber exposes water to ultraviolet rays.
  • This kills bacteria, viruses, and pathogens without adding chemicals.
  • Works only if water is already clear (sand + carbon ensure clarity).

5. Optional Final Polishing

  • A fine micron cartridge filter (5µ or 1µ) can be added before UV to catch very fine particles.
